From the Desk Of
Dr. Jerry Kjergaard, Superintendent, District 110

Welcome to Waconia Community School District (District 110) – where excellence is not an act, but a habit.

Our teachers, principals, support staff and patrons join me in expressing their pride in our school district. This pride is exhibited in the communities we serve, in our parents as vital and supportive members of the school community, and by our community members as evidenced by their ongoing support of the district’s effort to continuously improve the quality of education provided.

As a district we can imagine no greater satisfaction than to be able to work with and teach young people. To instill in a child a sense of belonging is gratifying beyond measure to all of us. This district is committed to helping each child discover new ideas, and we value how renewing that voyage of discovery is to each student. It’s a great joy for all connected to the district to assist each child exercise their new abilities.

In order to accomplish what we must as educators invites a high degree of partnership with parents and the community. And we do!

The refrain to which I return each new year is to make this year—and to make this school district—“an especially good effort, the very best we can do.”

All of us invite you to explore the many avenues available in this district and on this web site. Through your exploration you will come to know a great deal about our district and about us. You’ll sense our excitement, spirit, pride, and dedication. In fact, you’ll sense a great deal about our whole community.

We are proud to be a vital part of this community and we’d love to have you get to know about us and become part of us.

Again, welcome.
