A message from Superintendent Steve Massey, Ed.D

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year.

As a community education leader, we engage students everyday in a world-class education that prepares them for the demands of an evolving world.

A rigorous academic program beginning in elementary school helps students develop skills in literacy and math and advances critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills. Staff create meaningful connections and relationships with students that foster personal development.

With over 35 high school classes that offer college credit, a comprehensive list of course offerings including music, world languages, career and technical electives, agriculture programming, and much more, students create personalized career pathways.

Our Curriculum

A school district’s curriculum is at the heart of the education process. It is the substance of what is being taught. Great efforts are made to ensure that all material taught in our classrooms are appropriate. This is educationally valuable to our students.

Our school district has long maintained a curriculum review process. Furthermore, this is done through research and evaluating new materials and resources. All done while carefully analyzing their impact on student learning. Most important, ensuring alignment to state and national standards.

Our Mission

At FLSD we provide an atmosphere of respect. A place where students will improve weaknesses and capitalize on strengths. All in an effort  to become independent learners.
