Our Mission

Bethlehem Academy, a Catholic school in the Sinsinawa Dominican tradition.  We strive to empower its students and staff to achieve personal, spiritual and academic excellence. As well as challenge ourselves to love as Jesus Christ loved, to lead, to serve, to inspire and to seek the truth: Veritas.

Presidents Welcome Letter

I am Dr. Chuck Briscoe and I am entering my 42nd and final year in education.  I have been blessed to help students and staff reach their dreams and have shaken hands with 15,146 seniors on graduation night. This is our 155th year of serving students in the Faribault area; we are the oldest secondary school in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis!

This is my 32nd year as a principal and my 42nd year in education. I started as a teacher and coach in Jackson, Minnesota, and then moved to Apple Valley High School. Began my career as a principal at Wells-Easton High School and helped to bring four other districts together to form United South Central. Also, I was a principal in Willmar, Minnesota, and then had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to open a new high school in Rochester, Minnesota. With luck, great staff and students, and supportive parents, Century High School quickly became a great school recognized at both the state and national levels.

I left Century High School eight years ago to become a school superintendent and then faced some enormous life challenges with my wife’s pancreatic cancer the past five years.  We sent her to heaven in early 2018. Prior to joining BA, I was fortunate to be selected to be the principal at Hill-Murray School in Maplewood. In many ways it was the best job that I have ever had so it was a gut-wrenching decision to leave that job when my wife’s cancer returned.

This is my fourth and final year at Bethlehem Academy.  I hope to make this year my best year and promise to always focus on the “good stuff.” I ride an ordinary bike about 3000 miles each year for relaxation and the world always looks better after a bike ride.

Chuck Briscoe
