“The secret of success is constancy to purpose.”  Benjamin Disraeli

    Dear Friends:

It has been my experience in studying successful organizations that keeping their focus on their purpose is the major ingredient of their success.  In an effort to learn from the success of others, Roseville Area Schools has centered its purpose at the core of its public duty to the community: “Quality Teaching and Learning for All.”

While a mission statement is not a “surefire” recipe for success it is clear to me that without a consistent and concise purpose, focused on the mission of the organization, success is less likely to be achieved.  During the past year, Roseville Area Schools is seeing the positive results of keeping the “constancy of purpose” at the center of the organization.

What is the data that shows that the district focus on “Quality Teaching and Learning for All” is paying dividends for our students, their families and our taxpayers?  Below are some of the examples that the “constancy of purpose” is making a difference in District 623.

    * Roseville students score above the State, National, and Metro average on all assessments.

    * Each school in District 623 is meeting all the requirements of the Federal No Child Left Behind Act.

    * Roseville Area Schools and Education Minnesota Roseville are jointly working on an alternative method of teacher compensation.

    *  Roseville Area Schools has seven National Merit Scholars and five commended National Merit Scholars

    *  District 623 finished 10th among Minnesota school districts in the Challenge Cup results

    * Roseville Area School visual arts, musical and drama programs are the envy of the entire metro area.

    *   Roseville Area Schools Equity Vision highlights the district’s commitment to respectful behavior toward all members of our learning community.

I want to thank each member of our community for supporting our students, our staff, and the entire Roseville Area Schools learning community.  I am very grateful that you believe in our children's future, and I promise that we will not forget the sacrifices you are making to provide Roseville Area Schools with resources necessary to provide, “Quality Teaching and Learning for All.”  I look forward to working with each you to ensure a bright future for Roseville Area Schools.
