The Inver Grove Heights Community Schools serve over 3,800 students from the community and surrounding areas. The district includes four elementary schools, a middle school serving students in grades six through eight, and a high school. All of the district schools are accredited by the North Central Association. SchoolMatch has recognized the excellence of District 199 schools as a "school fitting the model of what parents want."

The mission of the Inver Grove Heights Community Schools is to provide a challenging education through which all learners achieve success in a diverse society. This will be accomplished through:
